Youth Charity In Nottingham

Information for
Supporters

Base 51 has been supporting young people aged 11-24 in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire since 1993.

The charity founders were inspired by a project they saw in New York which offered a holistic support to young people, giving them a one-stop shop where they can access wellbeing services.

We started on Glasshouse Street before moving to Castle Gate in 2012 as part of the MyPlace scheme with Nottingham City Council; due to funding being cut in 2022 we had to relocate again in April 2024 into our new home in Peachey Street.

Despite the challenges faced by Base 51, and other charities across the UK, we continue to be a trusted and safe space for young people in the county – giving them the vital life-changing support they need.

We focus on early intervention, providing counselling, specialist trauma support, a youth club, art therapy, a LGBTQIA+ group and other mental wellbeing services.

How You Can support Base 51

Financial donations make a huge difference – without them we couldn’t provide our life-changing services. With government funding decreasing, your support is more important than ever.

We accept donations of items, we love to receive Christmas gifts for 11-24 year olds that we can give out to those who otherwise may not receive a gift.

Please check out our the Amazon Wishlist above.

We have sponsorship options for our programmes, sponsor a counsellor or a youth club session!

Put your mark on something that changes people’s lives.

We can provide stickers, flags, online marketing and more to help raise funds!

We’re always open to having volunteers at Base 51, whether it’s helping us in our youth sessions, with marketing or administration.

Social Value

Why should we support Base 51, a youth charity?

Everyone deserves to grow up without worrying about whether they can afford to eat, stressing about not being able to find support when they are struggling, feeling like they don’t have someone to talk to or without somewhere safe to go in the evening.

On a practical note – young people are the future workforce of a city, so businesses should invest in ensuring that they get the support they need as they are growing up – helping create a happy, healthy and inspired community.

We are also happy to shout about your support on our social media, offer volunteering days, collaborate on any press releases, welcome your staff for visits or we can come and talk to your staff.
