Services and How We Support Young People

Support for Parents and Carers

Base 51 has been working with young people for over 30 years, so you can trust us to provide a high level of support for young people in your care.

We focus on early intervention, providing counselling, specialist trauma support, a youth club, art therapy, a LGBTQIA+ group and other mental wellbeing services.

Accessible Counselling for Young People

In our Counselling we work hard to have shorter waiting lists that other services so their mental health can be supported – we also understand that income can be a barrier to many who need support, so we offer free and subsided counselling to young people from households with low income.

Referrals for the general Base 51 counselling service are currently closed as we manage the waiting list. Please email counselling@base51.org.uk and we will alert you when it’s open again.

Available Service: Domestic Abuse Counselling

Are you aged 11-18 and live in Nottinghamshire? Have you been affected by domestic abuse? Our free counselling service is here to help. Supported by Nottinghamshire County Council, we’re open to new referrals – you can self refer, or be referred by a parent, caregiver or third party. Please email counselling@base51.org.uk.

A Safe Space

Our Youth Club gives young people a safe space to go after school/college, helping to reduce social isolation, make friends outside of school and give them inspiration to grow. Youth clubs keep young people off the streets where they are vulnerable to gangs, exploitation and anti-social behaviour – giving them a somewhere to talk to trusted adults and expand their social groups.

Due to moving buildings we our Youth Club is paused, follow us on social media or email us to be updated.
