Counselling

We know that it’s hard to open up and we know that it’s easier to ‘put on a brave face’ and pretend that everything is fine. But nobody should have to go through this alone. If you’re worried about your mental health, or you’re a parent worried about your child, we can help with everything you need to know about mental health, from anxiety and depression to self care and counselling.

You can talk to our counsellors in a safe, welcoming and confidential space on a 1-2-1 basis, and our counselling is completely free of charge.

Counselling sessions run on an appointment basis Monday-Friday, however we do have a waiting list. You can arrange to use our drop-in service and talk to someone at any time, or you can contact us below to book a drop-in session, or discuss your options

"I am glad that services like this are here to support young people as I did not know where else to go. I have always been helped and supported by Base51 when I am in trouble and I appreciate what they do for me"

"Just having someone to

talk to, it's a safe place. It's good to talk about my problems - talking is different than thinking about them, so you see for yourself what things are like, and I get a response so I'm not overthinking it."

"Counselling sounds weird because we don’t usually talk to strangers about yourself, but that’s what’s good! They don’t have a particular image of you. Being face to face and seeing that someone is understanding and listening helps."
