Base 51 Counselling

Base 51 are now able to offer fully-subsidised counselling sessions for 11-25 year olds.

Young people from low income households can receive 6 sessions of early-intervention person-centred counselling, free of charge with one of our counsellors in training, all of whom will be supported and supervised by our fully qualified practitioners.

Although this is a fully subsidised offer, contributions to our charity where possible are greatly appreciated.

We also offer part-subsided counselling with qualified practitioners subject to assessment where a trainee would not be appropriate.

If your household income is over £30,000 per year, sessions are charged at £45 per 50 minute session with a qualified practitioner.

Payments and contributions help us provide our charitable work to young people in need across the city and county as well as supporting our training and development programme for student counsellors.

"I am glad that services like this are here to support young people as I did not know where else to go. I have always been helped and supported by Base51 when I am in trouble and I appreciate what they do for me"

"Just having someone to

talk to, it's a safe place. It's good to talk about my problems - talking is different than thinking about them, so you see for yourself what things are like, and I get a response so I'm not overthinking it."

"Counselling sounds weird because we don’t usually talk to strangers about yourself, but that’s what’s good! They don’t have a particular image of you. Being face to face and seeing that someone is understanding and listening helps."
