Qualified Sessional Tutors, Assessors and Internal Verifiers - Counselling
Base 51 training academy offers professional qualifications in Counselling to professionals in the East Midlands, Nottingham city and Nottinghamshire.
We have an exciting opportunity for experienced tutors and assessors who is also a qualified Counsellor to join our team of sessional academy staff.
Using the indicative course content you will provide your own teaching resources and teach groups of adult learners.
Suitable qualifications and experience include;
â–ª Level 3 or 4 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) or above
â–ª Level 3 Education and Training or above
â–ª Diploma or certificate in education
â–ª Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Education
In addition, Tutors must hold a counselling qualification in the humanistic/person-centred approach level 4 diploma or above and experience.
Assessors have an assessor qualification or evidence of recent relevant experience. Suitable assessor qualifications include:
â–ª Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
â–ª Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
â–ª A1 Assess Candidate Performance using a Range of Methods
â–ª D32 Assess Candidate Performance and D33 Assess Candidate using Differing Sources of Evidence
In addition, Assessors must hold a counselling qualification at Level 4 or above.

Internal Verifiers (IV) have an internal verification qualification or evidence of recent relevant experience.
Suitable internal verification qualifications include:
â–ª Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
â–ª Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
â–ª V1 Conduct Internal Quality Assurance of the Assessment Process
â–ª D34 Internally Verify the Assessment Process
In addition, Internal Verifiers must hold a counselling qualification at Level 4 or above.
You’ll be working with learners from across the East Midlands region, either online, or face to face (in Nottingham City) on varying lengths of contracts depending on the level of course (levels 2 -4). We have a limited number of ‘online only’ vacancies so please clearly mark your application if this is your preference.

Base 51 counselling service delivers therapeutic interventions and counselling and support to young people aged 10-24 years old in the East Midlands, Nottingham city and Nottinghamshire.
We have an exciting opportunity for a vibrant and enthusiastic counsellor to join our experienced team to deliver counselling for young people experiencing crisis or mental health difficulties, as part of a wider multi-disciplinary service.
You will be required to carry out therapeutic assessments, one to one counselling, process review and outcome monitoring, case file administration. You will be self-employed but will also be an active member of the team, working alongside counselling and youth work professionals to support service growth and improve service provision.
Qualified Sessional Youth Work Tutors
At Base 51 Training Academy we deliver accredited youth work training to people working with children and young people from across the Youth Work sector.
The training opportunities in Youth Work range from the Level 1 Certificate in Exploring Youth Work, through to accredited and JNC recognised Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work Practice and Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice.
We have an exciting opportunity for trainers with the following essential criteria:

JNC Professionally Qualified Youth Work practitioner who have undertaken a recognised professional qualification in youth work.

Have a minimum of three years practical experience.

Have a sound understanding of National Occupational Standards for Youth Work

Have a sound understanding of the requirements for assessment within Ofqual
-
Be able to evidence continued professional development within the last three years
-
A flexible approach with the individual needs of learners needs’ as the priority
-
An ability to work some evenings in accordance with learners’ needs
-
An ability to work independently and manage the delivery of the scheme of work relevant to the course.

Ability to set up as self-employed, and hold relevant insurances.
